2023 JUSTICE ASSISTANCE (JAG) GRANT PROGRAM
The St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office is requesting public comment from all St. Martin Parish residents on the BJA FY 2023 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program – Local Solicitation
The St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office recognizes the need for upgrading radio communications to ensure the safety of students, teachers, and staff within school environments. The existing radio equipment utilized by the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officers (SROs) is outdated. The St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office will use JAG funds to purchase and implement a new set of advanced portable radios with Wi-Fi capability for the School Resource Officers. These radios will enable seamless communication between the SROs and the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office Communications Center.
The St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office also intends to make its FY 2023 JAG Grant application available to the St. Martin Parish Council for comment.
