Sheriff Becket Breaux

Becket T. Breaux is the Sheriff of St. Martin Parish. On October 12, 2019 he was elected with 60.34% of the vote. He has an extensive law enforcement career spanning over 30 years prior to announcing his bid for Sheriff in early 2019.

A graduate of St. Martinville Senior High School, Sheriff Breaux began his law enforcement career with the Parks Police Department. At the age of 17 he began his life long career with the Louisiana State Police. While working with the Louisiana State Police, he obtained his bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Louisiana State University at Alexandria, and is currently working on obtaining his Master’s Degree.

He is honored to have obtained numerous specialized training certifications throughout his career with the State Police including being able to attend the FBI Academy at Quantico, VA.

A lifelong resident of St. Martin Parish, Becket and his wife, Kim, have been married since 1992 and have two beautiful daughters.
