The Human Resources Bureau provides personnel related services to the employees of the Saint Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office. These services range from pre-employment screening, processing and interviewing applicants and medical, drug and psychological exams. Administration of the employee retirement plan through the Louisiana Sheriff’s Pension Fund and supervision of the Employment Injury Management Program are all vital functions maintained by this bureau.

To be considered for employment, applicants must be a minimum of eighteen (18) years of age and possess a high school diploma or G.E.D., a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, honorable discharge (if prior military service), and no felony convictions. Applicants considered for employment must successfully complete a medical and psychological examination and drug screening.

The Saint Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office provides health and life insurance for all full-time employees. Dental insurance is also available. Vacation, sick, and holiday pay are also provided to all full-time employees.
