St. Martinville Man Arrested On Drug Charges After Fleeing From Narcotics Agents

(St. Martinville, La) –This evening, Agents with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division after witnessing suspected drug activity, attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 1900 block of Nursery Hwy in Parks, LA. The suspect fled the scene and was apprehended a short time later in a cane field in Parks.

At the time of his apprehension, the suspect, who was identified as Brandon Nelson, 35, St. Martinville, LA., was found to be in possession of Methamphetamine and Marijuana.

He was arrested and charged as follows:

Aggravated Fight From An Officer

Obstruction of Justice

Possession of Schedule II CDS (Methamphetamine)

Possession of Schedule I CDS (Marijuana)

Ignoring Stop Sign

General Speed Law

He was subsequently booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center on the above-charges.
