Second Suspect That Was Wanted In Connection With the October 11, 2017 St. Martinville Shooting Has Been Apprehended

(St. Martinville, LA.)-Following the October 11, 2017 shooting that occurred on Main Hwy., in St. Martinville, St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office Investigators enlisted the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Western Louisiana Violent Offender Task Force-Lafayette Division in an effort to locate the second suspect, Andrew Smith, 19, who fled the area following the shooting.

This afternoon, the California Division of the U.S. Marshals Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force-Central CA., apprehended Andrew Smith in Venice Beach, California.

He will be extradited back at a later date and upon his arrival, he will be booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center on the following charges:

2 counts-Attempted First Degree Murder LA. R.S. 14:27:30.

The investigation remains ongoing and we would like to thank the U.S. Marshals Western Louisiana Violent Offenders Task Force-Lafayette Division and the California Division of the U.S. Marshals Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force-Central CA., for their assistance in apprehending Andrew Smith.
