One Arrested In Connection With Last Night’s Shooting Of Arnaudville Child

(St. Martinville, LA)-Last evening shortly before7:30 p.m., Deputies responded to a report of a shooting involving a three year old child in the 1000 block of Kennedy Drive in Arnaudville, Louisiana.A short time later, the child succumbed to the injuries he received and passed away at a local hospital.

Following an investigation into the shooting, Investigators with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested Dracolby Numa Journet, 28, Arnaudville, who is the Uncle of the child, and charged him as follows:

1 count-Illegal Possession of a Stolen Firearm In Violation of LA. R.S.14:69.1

1 count-Obstruction of Justice In Violation of LA. R.S. 14:130.1

Following his arrest, he was booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center on the above charges and at the time of this release, no bond had been set. The shooting has been ruled accidental and the investigation remains on-going.
