Lafayette Man Arrested In Connection with Drive-By-Shooting In St. Martin Parish - 3/2/2017 -

Lafayette Man Arrested for January Drive-By-Shooting In St. Martin Parish

(St. Martinville, LA.)-In the early morning hours of January 21, 2017, Deputies with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a drive-by-shooting that occurred at a residence in the 1100 block of Joel Blanchard Road, St. Martinville, LA. Following an investigation into the matter, Investigators with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office discovered that the residence had sustained multiple gunshots. Through the course of the investigation, it was determined the residence that was struck by gunshots was apparently mistaken for another residence that was located on the same Road.

At the culmination of the investigation, St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office Investigators obtained an arrest warrant for Cole Tumminello, 21, Lafayette, on the following charges:

(1 ct.) Assault by drive by shooting in violation of LA. R.S. 14:37.1

(1 ct.) Aggravated criminal damage to property in violation of LA. R.S. 14:55

Earlier today, the Lafayette City Marshals Office arrested Cole Tumminello at a residence in the 400 block of Point Aux Chenes in Lafayette,LA.

Following his arrest, he was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on the above charges, and will be extradited back to St. Martin Parish at a later date. At the time of this release, no bond has been set and the investigation remains on-going.
