Investigation Remains Ongoing In Connection With This Weekend’s Arson And Homicide

(St. Martinville, LA)-Investigators with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office along with the Louisiana State Fire Marshal began an investigation following a report of a fire Saturday afternoon at approximately 1:10 p.m. that occurred at a residence in the 1100 block of Bayou Mercier, St. Martinville, LA. As a result of that investigation, a suspect who was later identified as Brandon Boutte, was arrested by the Louisiana State Fire Marshal early Sunday morning and booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center on one count of Simple Arson and for Failure To Appear Charges that are unrelated to the current arson investigation.

In addition, Saturday evening St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office Investigators were notified that Deputies with the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office located the body of an unidentified female who appeared to be the victim of a homicide. Upon further investigation, Investigators were able to determine that the cases involving the fire and the deceased female, who was later identified as Simone Robin, 19, St. Martinville, were connected.

Upon further investigation, Investigators determined that the victim, Simone Robin was shot and killed early Thursday morning in the trailer that was subsequently set on fire on Saturday afternoon.

Following the investigation into the homicide, late Monday evening, St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office Investigators obtained warrants for Brandon Boutte, 25, St. Martinville, LA., and Toby Boutte, 22, Sunset, LA., and following the execution of the warrants, they were arrested and charged as follows:

Brandon Boutte, who is currently in the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center on the charges listed above, was booked in on the following additional charges:

1 Count-Second Degree Murder

1 Count-Obstruction of Justice

Toby Boutte was arrested and booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center on the following charge:

1 Count- Accessory after the fact of Second Murder


Both of them remain incarcerated at the time of this release. Brandon Boutte’s Bond has been set at $1,050.000.00. Toby Boutte’s bond has been set at $100,000.00. The investigation remains ongoing.
