Breaux Bridge Man Arrested For Aggravated Attempted Armed Robbery

Of Henderson Store

(St. Martinville, LA)-Yesterday morning shortly before 8:00 a.m., Deputies with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call regarding an attempted robbery by a black male subject who entered a store located in the 1100 block of Henderson Hwy. When the clerk did not immediately comply with his request, the subject ended up purchasing an item and left the store. Upon arrival and after further investigation, Deputies were able to identify the suspect as Homer John, 35, Breaux Bridge.

Deputies began a search in the immediate area and located him inside a casino in the 2900 block of Grand Point Hwy. He subsequently fled on foot and was apprehended a short time later by Deputies in a field behind the casino. Following his apprehension he was arrested and charged as follows:

1 count-Flight From An Officer

1 count-Aggravated Attempted Armed Robbery

1 count-Attempted Armed Robbery With The Use Of A Firearm

1-count-Possession Of A Firearm/Concealed By Convicted Felon

1-count-Battery Of A Police Officer

1-count-Simple Possession of Marijuana

1-count- Manufacture; Distribution; PWITD-Schedule II Narcotics

Following his arrest, he was booked in to the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center on the above charges. At the time of this release, no bond had been set.
