CONGRATULATIONS TO LT. GOV. SCOTT ANGELLE

St. Martin Parish Sheriff Ronald J. Theriot, the deputies, and all employees of St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office wish to congratulate St. Martin Parish's native son, Scott Angelle, (former St. Martin Parish President) in his recent appointment as interim Lt. Governor of Louisiana. We are very proud of Scott Angelle who calls Breaux Bridge his hometown, and has raised his family here in St. Martin Parish.

Scott Angelle will temporarily be replacing former Lt. Governor Mitch Landrieau, who has elected to serve as the Mayor of New Orleans. As Louisiana's lieutenant governor Scott Angelle will oversee the Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism, manage state parks, museums, the state library and state's tourism efforts.

Governor Bobby Jindal said of Scott Angelle when he announced him as his choice for Lt. Governor. "He's a public servant to the core. He's got an incredible work ethic, perhaps only outmatched by his heart."

Scott Angelle has been secretary of the Department of Natural Resources since 2004, with former Governor Kathleen Blanco, and currently under Governor Bobby Jindal. For Governor Jindal, Scott Angelle has worked in a dual role as DNR secretary and Governor Jindal's chief legislative lobbyist. Governor Jindal said Angelle will continue as his legislative liaison even as he becomes the temporary lieutenant governor.

Scott Angelle said of serving in his recent appointment as interim Lt. Governor "We'll be committed to excellence even though it is a short period of time."

We all wish Scott Angelle, St. Martin Parish's native son, the best of luck as Lt. Governor.
